21 Reasons My Daughter is Crying

She's not actually crying here...this is the face she makes when I ask her to smile!
Have you seen The Reasons My Son is Crying Tumblr? It's basically pictures of a little boy crying with an explanation as to why. It is HILARIOUS! I'm not sure which came first, but a while back I also read the blog, 46 Reasons My Three Year Old Is Freaking Out. (My favorite: "The cat won't let him touch its eyeball.") They are both genius because any parent of a toddler can relate!

So, to stick with that theme, (and because I love any reason to make a list) here are some of the reasons my daughter is crying:

I won't let her wear her coat in 70+ degree weather.

I'm combing her hair.

She doesn't want to wear her new pink sandals.

I put the Craisins in the pantry.

I gave her milk.

She tripped over my foot.

We have to go inside.

I didn't let her play with the hairspray bottle.

The dog won't let her put his food in his water dish.

I'm trying to read her the wrong book.

The food is hot.

She tripped over nothing.

I went outside to get the mail without her.

She can't have my iPhone.

I threw the empty yogurt container away.

I won't let her crawl out the doggy door.

She wants to ride her bike- not in the wagon.

She tripped over her foot.

I put a piece of chicken on her tray.

The duck in the bathtub isn't squeaking.

She can't see over the 6 foot fence.

As you can see, most of the reasons she's upset are my fault!

Jeez, get it together, Mama!

Honestly, I might be completely wrong about why she's upset. These are just my guesses as to why she's crying.

I'm hoping communication between Grace and I improves when she can ACTUALLY TALK, but I keep hearing about this thing called the "terrible twos..."

"Who me? Crying? Never!"

  1. I noticed I was the reason my son is always crying too! Has nothing to do with them!

  2. Funny! I know it isn't always funny when it's happening but some of these made me chuckle because I can so relate!
Just this morning my son (just one month shy of 5) called me stupid at the top of his lungs multiple times because he didn't want to put his own socks on! All my fault of course :-)

  3. I also mentioned picking the wrong book in my blog post! Isn't it funny how something so small can make them cry? Thanks for the post! Found you on Mama Kat's linkup! http://notjustasahm.wordpress.com/2013/05/02/reasons-my-son-is-crying/

  4. I wish I could tell you it gets better, but my kids are 14 and 17, and everything is STILL my fault.

Two is not terrible. THREE is terrible.
